Coach Shaun Hanson brings over 20 years of experience in education and athletics, shaping young athletes both on and off the court. Throughout his career, he has coached basketball at the middle school level, served as the varsity assistant boys’ basketball coach at Blue Valley Southwest High School in the competitive Eastern Kansas League (EKL), and held the role of athletic director in the Lawrence School District within the Sunflower League.
Currently, Coach Hanson serves as the director of administrative services for the Lawrence School District, where he oversees athletics and activities across the district.
A strong advocate for student-athletes participating in multiple sports and activities, Coach Hanson believes in the long-term benefits of a well-rounded athletic experience. Coach Hanson challenges his players to excel in basketball, academics, and personal growth, emphasizing resilience and preparing them for success both on and off the court.
