Basketball Coaching and Training in KC

where KC Competes

Grit Travels. So Do We.

We train for moments that matter—buzzer-beaters, packed gyms, and high-stakes matchups.

KEBA teams play year-round and show up ready, repping Kansas City on every court we step on. True development doesn’t stop at the city limits because we shape our athletes to grow on and off the court.

The Teams We Coach

High School Teams (Grades 9 to 12)

Compete at the highest level in tournaments like RecruitLook and MAYB Nationals. KEBA high school teams support student-athletes chasing college prep, leadership growth, and elite competition through weekly training and personalized mentorship.

Middle School Teams (Grades 6 to 8)

Middle school athletes develop discipline, decision-making, and game IQ while competing in seasonal events, like RecruitLook or Agape Hoops. These are pivotal years, where our coaches focus on building confidence and preparing players for the next level.

Youth Teams (Grade 3 and Up)

Our youngest squads build core skills and strong habits early. KEBA youth teams are the foundation for future leaders, and our coaching staff creates a family environment where toughness, communication, and a love for the game come first.

Tournaments We Participate In

  • RecruitLook Hoops

Our high school teams compete in elite RecruitLook Hoops, HardWood Events, and other high-level circuit showcases designed to attract scouts, challenge top players, and advance college prep. These tournaments are high-exposure and high-intensity—perfect for athletes looking to showcase their strengths.

  • HardWood Events

HardWood Events hosts elite youth basketball tournaments across the Midwest, offering weekend matchups that bring out the best in every player. Our middle school and high school teams face tough competition in a high-energy environment that sharpens skills, builds toughness, and prepares athletes for the next level.

  • MAYB Nationals

Each summer, KEBA teams from 5th grade to high school head to the Midwest’s biggest amateur stage. MAYB Nationals tests every skill we teach: toughness, teamwork, and mental grit, with some of the most competitive youth basketball teams in the country.

  • Agape Hoops

Agape Hoops is one of the top local youth basketball event organizations in the Kansas City metro. With tournaments year-round, every KEBA team, no matter the grade, players get real game experience against strong local competition. Season after season, it’s real player development in action.

How Tryouts Work

What We’re Looking For

Tryouts at KEBA consist of coaches analyzing player skill, effort, attitude, body language, and basketball IQ. We want athletes who crave development and show up ready to grow, not just impress.

When to Show Up

Spring and summer tryouts take place in mid-March, while Fall tryouts occur in mid-August. For winter sessions, we hold tryouts in both November and January. We recommend arriving early, warmed up, and both physically and mentally ready to compete.

Accountability

We set clear expectations and standards for every player and coach in the KEBA family. Accountability builds character, strengthens teams, and helps our culture thrive.

Who Can Try Out

We welcome student-athletes from 3rd grade through high school. From first-time club players to returning starters, our competitive environments help challenge and inspire.

Explore Our 2025 Schedule
